So I stayed home sick today, and writing in my blog seemed like a fun and easy thing to do. So I thought I'd come up with some books that are good reads for those awful and lazy days we all inevitably face. And some that come to mind first (maybe because I can see them from where I'm sitting) are (I'm sure you can guess because some are pictured above) the Harry Potter books.
Now, I know most of you have already read Harry Potter. I'm just saying being sick gives you a good excuse to dust them off and read them again. Or have a healthy loved one stop by the library and pick one up on his way home from work, along with the chicken soup. Plus! As a bonus, if you aren't up for reading, the movies are also pretty decent (and better than your other daytime TV options, let me tell you). Or! You could listen to them on CD. Jim Dale, the narrator, does a great job doing different voices for all of the characters. In fact, I think he might have won something for that...yep, wiki is my hero (note: wiki's picture of Jim Dale makes it seem like he's married to Glenn Close, but that's not the case).

I'm a patsy for Rowling. I even kind of want to buy her grossly expensive Tales of Beetles the Bard special edition set from Amazon (check it out! It's so fun looking!!). While we're on the topic of (Rowling making oodles of money from her ingenious Harry Potter idea) other things from the Harry Potter world, sign yourself up for one of the library's copies of The Tales of Beetle the Bard. It doesn't come out until December 4th, so you'll have to be patient, but you could brush up on the Harry Potter books while you're waiting.
Have some fun with Harry Potter at Mentor Library!
